Corporate wellness retreats in India: formats, regions and resorts
A corporate wellness retreat in India works in three formats: a full retreat, a wellness block inside an offsite, or a reward stay at a wellness resort. Settle group size, food and minimum stay with the resort before you book, because resorts built for wellness are often small and have their own rules.

In short
- Make treatments and sessions optional, and settle the resort's diet and alcohol policy before you book.
- Three formats work: a full wellness retreat, a wellness block inside an offsite, and a reward stay at a wellness resort.
- Resorts built for wellness are often small and have their own rules, so settle group size, food and minimum stay first.
Three ways to use wellness
Companies use wellness in different amounts. Decide which one you want before you choose a place.
- A full retreat
- The whole programme is wellness: daily yoga, treatments, talks on stress and sleep, and time offline. Suits teams under pressure, or a leadership group that needs a reset.
- A block inside an offsite
- A morning of yoga or a guided walk, a spa afternoon or a digital-detox evening between working sessions. The agenda stays mostly business.
- A reward stay
- Top performers spend a few days at a wellness resort with treatments included. Little structure, a lot of choice.
What a programme can hold
A good programme mixes group sessions with free time. Everyone does the same morning session, then chooses the rest.
- Yoga and meditation
- A daily group session at sunrise or evening. Resorts usually provide teachers; ask for a level that suits beginners.
- Ayurveda
- A consultation, a diet plan and treatments such as massage. Some treatments need medical screening and several days to work, so keep expectations modest on a short stay.
- Naturopathy
- Diet, hydrotherapy and lifestyle advice. Often offered alongside Ayurveda at the same resorts.
- Time in nature
- Guided walks, cycling, a river or backwater morning. These double as team activities.
- A digital detox
- A set period without phones, such as an evening or a half-day.

Where to look
Wellness resorts cluster in a few regions. Each of these also has a destination page with venues, flights and the best months.
- Uttarakhand
- Ananda in the Himalayas sits at Narendra Nagar, about 16 km from Rishikesh. Six Senses Vana is in Dehradun, near the Malsi forest. See Uttarakhand.
- Kerala
- Ayurveda resorts, with backwater and beach settings. See Kerala.
- Goa
- Mercure Goa Devaaya Resort, formerly the Devaaya Ayurveda and Nature Cure Centre, is on Divar Island, about 10 km from Panaji. See Goa.
- Karnataka
- Shreyas Retreat is a yoga retreat at Nelamangala, about 35 km from Bengaluru, and SwaSwara is an Ayurveda and yoga retreat at Om Beach near Gokarna. See Bengaluru.
These resorts are named as places to ask, not as an ICE India endorsement of any one. Whether a resort takes a corporate group, and for how many nights, depends on the property.
What to settle before you book
- Group size
- Many wellness resorts are small. A group of 100 may need two properties or a hotel base with day visits.
- Minimum stay
- Some resorts set a minimum of five nights for treatment programmes. Ask for a short group format.
- Food
- Many wellness resorts serve simple vegetarian food and do not serve alcohol. Ask each resort, tell the group before they arrive, and plan the evening programme accordingly.
- Health information
- Collect allergies, conditions and medication in advance, and make every treatment optional.
- Business sessions
- Keep working sessions short and away from treatment hours. A retreat that is half conference rarely feels like either.
- Visas
- Overseas guests can apply for an Indian e-Visa online, through the official portal, for the categories it lists. Check the current rules for each nationality.
How ICE India helps
ICE India shortlists resorts for your group size and dates, checks what each will offer a corporate group, and plans the travel, transfers and any business sessions around the stay.
