Why companies choose Mumbai

  • Reachable from every office

Non-stop flights from the main metros, overnight trains and two airports, so delegates from Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata or Bengaluru arrive the same day.

  • Venues at every scale

Five-star ballrooms in BKC, the airport belt, Juhu, Powai and South Mumbai, and convention and exhibition halls for thousands of delegates.

  • A hybrid-ready convention centre

ICANN85 ran for six days in March 2026 at Jio World Convention Centre, with delegates in the room and online.

  • Metro links to the venue clusters

The Aqua Line runs through the airport and BKC to the south of the city, which shortens delegate transfers and avoids peak traffic.

  • Entertainment and food on the doorstep

Film studios, heritage walks, sea cruises and some of India's best restaurants within a short drive of any hotel.

  • Headquarters, not a branch

Sales and delivery are both in Mumbai, so site visits, vendor meetings and rehearsals happen in person.

Mumbai for corporate groups

Mumbai is India's financial capital and the base of many of the country's largest companies, banks, media groups and pharmaceutical firms. That concentration is why it works for corporate events: a board meeting, a dealer conference, an awards night or a product launch can draw a full house of delegates, guests and the press without most of them needing a hotel.

The city's weakness is distance and traffic, not choice. A venue can be 10 kilometres from the airport and still be an hour away at the wrong time of day, so a good Mumbai event is planned around where delegates sleep, where they arrive and when the road is clear. ICE India is headquartered here and plans each programme around those corridors, with a single point of contact, end to end.

A business conference in Mumbai runs on conference management terms: venue, AV, registration and transfers in one plan. For corporate travel events that start from Mumbai, such as an incentive trip abroad, see our MICE services and corporate travel.

Where to hold an event in Mumbai

Mumbai is a string of business districts along one long island, each with its own hotels and character. Pick the district that is closest to where most delegates arrive and where they will work.

Flights to Mumbai from the main Indian cities

Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata all have frequent non-stop flights to Mumbai, so delegates land within a few hours of each other and begin on day one. ICE India checks each arrival's airline and terminal before assigning transfers.

  • Drum jams and art workshops

When to go

Conference season and festival weeks fill the larger hotels early, so ballrooms for 500 or more delegates are best booked well ahead.

October to February
Dry weather and comfortable evenings for outdoor dinners. Most corporate events run now.
March to May
Hot and humid, with daytime highs around 33°C, which favours indoor venues.
June to September
The monsoon, heaviest in July and August. Venue rates are lower, but every outdoor plan needs an indoor alternative and travel times grow, which ICE India builds in at planning stage.

    British Deputy High Commission run

The annual charity run in Mumbai, managed by ICE India since the first edition on 2 October 2011, where each runner picks the NGO their effort supports.

  • I first met Mufaddal and ICE India in 2011 when I wanted to stage a charity event called Footsteps 4 Good in Mumbai on October 2nd. I contacted a few event agencies but luckily I chose ICE because of their competitive edge and commitment to the cause. From the outset Mufaddal was enthusiastic and supportive. He worked tirelessly to make the event a success, and of great benefit to local NGOs. Without the professionalism of ICE the event wouldn't have gone off so smoothly. In 2012 a storm raged the night before the event but somehow team ICE rebuilt holding fences and directed the participants away from the flooded areas. From then on he and I have worked to promote Footsteps to make it an annual event.

  • Mufaddal & his team gave us a new insight & a different perspective about our event. They showcased it beautifully, gave us invaluable tips and made it a huge success. Our event is a multi-faceted one and not easy to understand & implement. They were very professional, creative and worked hard to meet our deadlines. Thank you very much Mufaddal and all the best to you & your team.

Kusuma RaoPresident, Rotary Club of Bombay Powai (Powai Fest 2017)
  • The acronym ICE stands for Impressive, Capable, and Efficient. It was so calm and well-managed that they were able to handle the whole event from scratch. The company is experienced in handling things such as negotiations, customisation, and creativity. Our event was managed by ICE India in such a way that our client was unstoppable in appreciating it. It is Mufaddal who is the backbone of ICE India and he has a wonderful team to support him in managing any event. We had a great time working with ICE India, and I am sure they will go far in this industry. A big thank you to the team at ICE India.

Planning an event in Mumbai: questions

Which Mumbai hotels suit an event for 100 to 300 people?

Most five-star hotels above do. For 100 to 300 delegates, any ballroom of 4,500 sq ft or more works, which includes the Grand Hyatt, The Leela, JW Marriott Sahar and Juhu, Fairmont, The Westin Powai Lake, ITC Maratha and the Taj Mahal Palace. Typical formats are a plenary with two parallel tracks and space outside for showcases.

Can ICE India add a nearby extension to a Mumbai event?

Yes. Lonavala is a short drive away for a hill-station night, and Alibaug is a ferry ride from the Gateway of India for a coastal one. ICE India plans the coaches or boats and the programme as one schedule.

Which licences does an event in Mumbai need?

Usually music licences, an excise licence if alcohol is served, and police, fire and other permissions depending on the venue and format. Hotels handle some of them; open-air and non-hotel venues need more. ICE India applies for the full set as part of each quote; the guide to licences for a corporate event in Mumbai explains each one.

What does an event in Mumbai cost?

It depends on the venue, season and format. ICE India's published bands put a networking event at ₹2-5 lakh, a one-night conference for 200 people at ₹35-70 lakh including stay on twin sharing, F&B and AV, before GST, and a large product launch at ₹10-50 lakh or more. See corporate event management.
