ICE India in Abu Dhabi
Planned by ICE India, with vetted local partners on the ground.

Why companies choose Abu Dhabi

  • Short flights from India

Flights take three to five hours from the main metros. The clock is 90 minutes behind India, so groups land fresh and can work the same day.

  • Ballrooms for large groups

The Emirates Palace ballroom takes up to 2,400, and the ADNEC centre has twelve exhibition halls and a 6,000-capacity conference hall.

  • Culture groups talk about

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Qasr Al Watan give a programme its photographs and its conversation.

  • A theme-park island, 15 minutes from the airport

Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld sit beside the Formula 1 circuit and the hotels of Yas Island.

  • Desert, mangroves and wildlife

Dune camps, kayaking through mangroves and a safari island give a quieter side to the trip, within a few hours' reach.

  • Easy to add Dubai

Dubai and Abu Dhabi in one trip works because Dubai is a short coach ride away.

Abu Dhabi for corporate groups

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the quieter, more spacious neighbour of Dubai. Hotels sit on islands and along the Corniche, so a group can stay in one place and still reach every venue within half an hour.

A leadership offsite of 50 can take a resort on Saadiyat Island. A dealer conference of 1,500 fits the Emirates Palace ballroom. A conference of several thousand has the ADNEC centre, and Yas Island hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix every December.

ICE India plans Abu Dhabi incentive trips and offsites through vetted local partners and runs conferences in its large ballrooms. Most groups pair it with Dubai, and some add Oman. For group flights, hotels and visas to Abu Dhabi, see corporate travel.

Visas for Indian passport holders

A visa is required before travel for Indian passport holders. ICE India files every application in a single batch.

Tourist visa
Arranged in advance through an airline, a licensed UAE travel agent or a hotel. It is a UAE visa, so it also covers Dubai and the other emirates.
Processing time
Usually three to four working days, with express services available. Group applications go in about two weeks before departure.
Documents
Passports with at least six months of validity, a passport-style photograph, a return ticket and usually a confirmed hotel booking.
14-day and 60-day entry visas
Indian passport holders with a valid US or EU visa or residence permit, or a US Green Card, can apply online for a 14-day visa, extendable once by 14 days, or a 60-day single-entry visa. A residence permit from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada or New Zealand also qualifies. The passport must be valid for six months or more.
Events visa
A separate events visit visa exists for registered festivals, exhibitions and conferences, and it needs a host entity. A closed company trip normally uses a tourist visa.

Two experiences groups book in Abu Dhabi: Yas Island and a night in the dunes

Two experiences anchor most Abu Dhabi programmes: a day on Yas Island and a night in the dunes.

Rides, a Formula 1 circuit and a waterfront evening

Ferrari World and Yas Island

Ferrari World is the world's first Ferrari-branded theme park, 15 minutes from the airport. Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi stand beside it, so one hotel base gives a group several days of choice.

Yas Marina Circuit runs group driving experiences, including a pit stop challenge, and its terraces and lounges host the evening.

Time
A full day, or a half day with a session at the circuit.
Group size
The parks take group bookings. The circuit's Yas Conference Centre holds up to 1,200.
As the gala night
Dinner on a rooftop terrace or waterfront lounge at Yas Marina Circuit.
Food
Indian, vegetarian and Jain meals are arranged in advance with the venue caterer.

Dunes, lanterns and a seated dinner under the stars

Desert camp dinner

Abu Dhabi's desert begins outside the city. Camps at Al Wathba and, deeper in the Liwa dunes, Qasr Al Sarab are set up for seated dinners as well as informal evenings.

Groups arrive by 4x4 or coach, with dune drives and photographs at sunset before the dinner starts. Qasr Al Sarab suits an overnight stay.

Time
An evening at Al Wathba. Qasr Al Sarab is a night away.
Group size
Al Mabeet Desert Camp at Al Wathba holds 600. Camp Al Ara'a at Qasr Al Sarab holds up to 300.
As the gala night
A seated dinner with a stage and the awards ceremony.
Food
Arabic barbecue and buffets, with vegetarian and Jain menus briefed to the camp kitchen beforehand.

Where to go in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is a city of islands and waterfront districts. Most groups base themselves in one district and take coaches to the rest for dinners and visits.

The waterfront, Etihad Towers and the palaces

The Corniche and Emirates Palace

The classic Abu Dhabi address. The Corniche is an 8 km sweep of waterfront with a public beach, separate cycle and walking paths, cafés and play areas, and large conference hotels stand along its length. It suits groups that want sessions, hotel dining and sightseeing within a short drive of each other.

Etihad Towers and Emirates Palace face each other at the southern end. The palace has a 1.3 km beach, a marina and more than 40 meeting rooms, and its central dome is ringed by 114 smaller domes. Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace of the United Arab Emirates, has been open to visitors since March 2019.

Where groups stay
Emirates Palace, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, The St. Regis and the Grand Hyatt, all on or beside the waterfront.

White marble, 82 domes and reflecting pools

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The mosque that most visitors come for. It was built between 1994 and 2007 and opened in December 2007. The complex measures about 290 by 420 metres, with 82 domes and four minarets about 107 metres high framing a courtyard of white marble.

It is the largest mosque in the UAE, and it can hold more than 40,000 worshippers. Reflecting pools run beside the arcades, and the colonnades of gold-topped columns, inlaid with flowers, make the courtyard a favourite place for group photographs. After dark the domes are lit in blue.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center runs the visitor programme. Its library, in the north-east minaret, holds classic books in languages including Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German and Korean.

Entry
Free, with an online access pass booked in advance for each visitor, so the group list goes in early.
Group visits
Guided tours for groups are available through tour operators. Allow one to two hours.
Prayer times
It is the main place of daily prayer, so visits are arranged around the prayer times.
Best timing
Many groups come in the late afternoon, to see the domes by daylight and then lit at night.

The Louvre, beaches and resort ballrooms

Saadiyat Island

The cultural island, 500 metres off the city coast and a short drive from downtown. The Louvre Abu Dhabi sits under a lattice dome that scatters light across its galleries and the water around it.

The museum covers about 24,000 square metres, with 8,000 square metres of galleries, which makes it the largest art museum on the Arabian Peninsula. It runs under an agreement with France signed in 2007, and it was one of the first projects completed in the Saadiyat Cultural District.

Beach resorts line the shore, so a culture morning can be followed by an afternoon on the sand. Saadiyat is planned as Abu Dhabi's cultural centre, with more museums and galleries to come in the same district.

Where groups stay
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, with a ballroom for 2,200, and other beach resorts along the same shore.
In the galleries
Art from around the world is set side by side, to link East and West.
Private events
The Louvre takes private events, including gala dinners under the dome.
Next door
The Abrahamic Family House, with a mosque, a church and a synagogue, is in the same cultural district.

Hotels, Yas Bay and the Etihad Arena

Yas Island

The entertainment island, built on reclaimed land and covering 25 square kilometres. Hotels, a marina, theme parks and a Formula 1 circuit share the island. Yas Island for a corporate group means one hotel for the whole programme, which suits Abu Dhabi incentive travel.

Yas Waterworld has the Bubbles' Barrel, billed as the world's largest surfable sheet wave, and Ferrari World has been open since 2010. Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi are close by, and the circuit has hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009.

Yas Waterworld won the Leading Edge Award from the World Waterpark Association in 2012, and the island was named the world's leading tourism project at the World Travel Awards in 2009. It takes its name from the Bani Yas tribe, which also gave Sir Bani Yas Island its name.

Where groups stay
The W Abu Dhabi and the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island both have ballrooms and meeting rooms.
Evenings
Yas Marina and Yas Bay have waterfront restaurants, and Rangoli serves Indian food on the island.
Big events
The Etihad Arena holds up to 18,000 guests for concerts and large corporate gatherings.
Best for
Groups that want rides, motorsport and a lively waterfront with very little transfer time.

Sir Bani Yas Island

A nature island in the Gulf, 9 km offshore from Jebel Dhanna, and the largest natural island in the UAE. Its wildlife reserve was founded in 1977 by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and covers 87 square kilometres.

The island measures 17.5 km from north to south and 9 km from east to west, and decades of conservation have added several million trees and plants. It is a bird sanctuary as well as a wildlife reserve.

More than 17,000 animals roam free, including Arabian oryx, giraffes and cheetahs. Safari drives are the main activity, and guests also kayak through mangroves, cycle, hike, shoot arrows and snorkel. Thirty-six archaeological sites have been found here, among them a Bronze Age trading port and the remains of a monastery from around 600 AD.

Where groups stay
The Anantara Desert Islands Resort and Spa, with the Al Sahel and Al Yamm resorts as other options.
Wildlife park
Access to the wildlife park is through a resort stay or an organised tour, arranged around the group's dates.
Team sessions
Archery and kayaking suit team-building sessions between safari drives.
Best for
A one-night or two-night extension after the city programme.

ADIPEC fills the ADNEC centre from 2 to 5 November 2026, and hotels in the city book out around it.
Shoulder months
April (32 °C) and October (35 °C) suit evenings outdoors and middays indoors.

Planning an event in Abu Dhabi: questions

What should groups wear to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque?

Women wear loose, opaque clothing that covers the ankles and wrists, with a headscarf. Men wear long trousers and a top with sleeves. Shoes come off before the prayer hall. ICE India briefs the group before departure.

How are vegetarian and Jain guests looked after?

The kitchen or caterer is briefed before arrival, menus are reviewed daily, and ICE India visits the restaurants in advance so these guests eat complete meals.

Can we visit Sir Bani Yas Island in one day?

It is a long day. The island is about 240 to 250 km from the city: two to two and a half hours by road to the Jebel Dhanna jetty, then a short boat crossing. Most groups stay one or two nights.

Which days suit business sessions?

Saturday and Sunday are the weekend, and Friday is a half working day with prayers around midday. Schedule meetings from Monday to Thursday, and expect some sights to open later on Fridays.
